Emilia Hazelip's garden design

Emilia created a garden design method inspired by Masanobu Fukuoka's principles. Her basics principles are:
  • Don't use pesticides or chemicals.
  • Don't till the soil.
  • Don't compact the soil.
The basic elements in her design are large linear heaps of soil. Between these heaps, she lefts corridors. The gardener is only allowed to walk along the corridors not on the heaps, so the soil of the heaps remains uncompacted.

We're going to create an Emilia style garden this summer. We have already made the heaps and have installed the drip irrigation system too. After that, we must cover the heaps with mulch to prevent the soil compression.

To get more information about Emilia's design method, Cambium distributes a video explaning this method.
